Snowy November

Drywall, radiant heating, tape & texture...

A pretty sunset.

It was 12.6 degrees our first morning back from Denton.
51 degrees in the storage bay, and a cozy 62 in the RV

A beautiful morning, looking south
Getting ready to move out of the yard. The ground was very frozen and hard under the snow.
Success, made it out. 4 wheel drive was required :)

The boiler is on!! Heating the house and all the garages. The stone for the front of the house wont go on until spring, and the outside of the house wont be painted until then. It's just too cold.
Tape and mud making good progress.

Bright sunny day with lots of light coming into the living room

This is the kitchen. The island plumbing is visible just to the left of the scaffold.

The master bedroom.
The trailer in the driveway and not out in the yard..
Our driveway. Site of the 2022 Luge World Championships.

The propane and heating oil tanks. Sitting right next to the whole house automatic generator.. Booyah!!
The view from the guest room downstairs under the porch

Stairwell to the two guestrooms downstairs

Sheldon, the owner of the contracting company, and Matt, the project Manager, trying to look interested at another piece of advice from the homeowner!! Note, there is water in the tanks. Finally.

We don't have a well, we will use water catchment for the majority of our needs, and have water delivered if it is too dry.
The boiler and water supplies for the radiant heat system.

When installed, this is the filtration and UV system for cleaning and disinfecting the catchment water before it is pumped into the tanks

The initial entry into the warm, comfortable, parking place

Into the shop. Warm and dry.
I believe this is the track of a rabbit.
Look at all the snow on top of the trailer.
We are happy and warm inside the shop.

Someone, not us, made a snowman in the snow.
In the kitchen looking into the living room.
We had frozen pipes when we got back after 2 weeks and this is how we thawed them.
We are moved out of the townhouse in Soldotna and have packed our
furniture and things away in the white trailer and travel trailer and are using space in the new house shop.
It's November 14, 2021 and we had about 5 inches of snow this week.

The roads were still fine for us most of the time.
Inside the travel trailer, bunk beds completely packed full. Getting ready to head south for the winter
Beautiful sunrises. It's almost 9am. The days are pretty short

Packing the couches away for the winter.
Loading the trailer in the snow

This was taken at night, the moon on the water.

This is why we won't normally come to Alaska in November.

Another fantastic sunset overlooking Homer and the Spit
